Publication of a Special Topic Issue of the Journal of Materials Processing Technology (Elsevier) on Impulse Forming

The idea of publishing a Special Topic Issue on Impulse Forming in a well known scientific journal was brought up first at the 2009 I²FG Plenary Meeting in Bilbao, Spain. In the same year the Journal of Materials Processing Technology by Elsevier agreed on publishing such a Special Topic Issue. Articles for this edition were submitted by members as well as non-members of the International Impulse Forming Group. On May 1st, 2011 the sixteen final contributions were published in the Journal of Materials Processing Technologies. The topics of this Special Topic Issue range from fundamental investigations like the material behavior under high strain rates to more application oriented investigations like joining or shape calibration processes by impulse forming.
