Prof. Glenn Daehn’s research group at The Ohio State University has been studying impulse forming methods including electrohydraulic forming, electromagnetic forming as well as other processes since 1989. Special areas of interest include: the effect of velocity and strain rate on formability; instrumentation with laser velocimetry and use of instrumented experiments to determine material constitutive behavior; impulse joining by crimping and welding; and springback control by means of impulse.
