Introducing I²FG

In May 2001 the 1st national colloquium on high-speed forming and electromagnetic forming in particular was held at the IUL. Since then further national and international congresses followed, establishing a platform for knowledge exchange and discussing the state-of-the-art and future aims in the field of high-speed forming.

At the 3rd International Conference on High-Speed Forming ICHSF2008 the idea of founding an International Impulse Forming Group I²FG to coordinate and ease international cooperation in this special field of engineering was announced and supported by many conference participants. During the I²FG Kick-off Meeting on October 21st, 2008 in Dortmund a constitution was passed, first members were admitted, and subgroups were defined.

We hope for a fruitful cooperation within the I²FG allowing us to promote research work and industrial applications in the field of impulse forming technologies together.
